Aperitif
Aperitiv is a drink served before meals and induces appetite, salivation and prepares receptors for the perception of food, stimulating the secretion of gastric juice.
Alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, juices are used as aperitifs. Popular aperitifs include vermouth, sherry, campari, rakia, becherovka, ouzo, pastis, amontillado, kir cocktail. Also, a strong alcoholic drink, vodka, whiskey, rum, gin can be an aperitif.
Traditionally, low-alcohol drinks based on vermouth and bitters, that is, herbal liqueurs, are drunk for an aperitif. That is, something bitter or spiced. Sometimes the best aperitif is just a glass of wine or sparkling wine. An aperitif can also be a non-alcoholic version - tonic or bitter - anything that drives the appetite.
